Langtang & Helambu – Kyanjin Gompa and Kyanjin Ri

The Gompa at Kyanjin Gompa (3,798m)
Kyanjin Gompa is home to another fine example of a mani wall
A closer inspection of the mani wall outside Kyanjin Gompa reveals some impressive individual slabs
Viewed from Kyanjin Gompa, sunset transforms the fluted ice of Lenpo Gang (7,083m) into a gigantic wall of gold
As the sun sinks below the surrounding mountains, the last of the afternoon cloud swirls into its disappearing act. Viewed from Kyanjin Gompa
Dawn at Kyanjin Gompa also offers stirring views as the surrounding peaks reflect the first rays of the new day

On the early stages of the climb from Kyanjin Gompa to Kyanjin Ri (4,700m)
From Kyanjin Ri there is an uninterrupted view directly across the valley to the vast, south east face of Langtang Lirung
Turning to the east, Tserko Ri is closest left, with a string of other peaks including Lenpo Gang (7,083m) behind
Descending along the knife-edge ridge leading from the summit back to Kyanjin Gompa, we enjoyed the views on both sides
Abruptly the ridge ended at a precipice. Almost 600m directly below lay Kyanjin Gompa  > Kyanjin Gompa to Langshisha Kharka
